During an encounter with an enemy, debris silently embedded itself into his eyes—due to the intense surge of adrenaline, he failed to notice the pain at the time, allowing the wounds to fester and spread. Cal had to undergo cleaning treatment to let his eyes fully heal. Without sight, his only guide was the Force to continue his journey through the galaxy.
