Defense Formula Adjusted

Defense Formula Adjusted

In vanilla, this is what happens: Attack: 500, your Defense: 2000 → 56 damage taken, meaning 89% damage mitigation. Another example: Attack: 3000, your Defense: 1000 → 1800 damage taken, meaning 40% damage mitigation. What does this mod do? It essentially flattens this curve.

Variant 1: Weaker hits deal more damage to you, while stronger hits deal less damage.
Variant 2: Read down.

Examples Vanilla formula (damage= A × A ÷ (A + 2·D)):

Attack  Defense Damage enter   % mitigation
1000      4000         111                      89 %
3000      1000        1800                     40 %
1000      1000         333                      67 %
2000       500         1333                     33 %
500         2000         56                       89 %
5000       2500       2500                     50 %
1500       3000        300                      80 %
4000       4000       1333                     67 %
800         100           640                     20 %
10000     3000        6250                    38 %

VARIANT 1
Attack/Defense      Now          Variant 1
0,125                      20 %          25 %
0,25                        33 %          38 %
0,5                          50 %          53 %
1                             67 %          65 %
2                             80 %          74 %
4                             89 %          79 %

VARIANT 2 or FIXED
regardless of the attack value, only Defense matters, and it always provides the same damage reduction:
The new formula is damage = attack × (1 − D / (D + 2000)). A few examples:

Defense    Damage Reduction
300                      13 %
700                      26 %
1000                    33 %
2000                    50 %
3000                    60 %
4000                    67 %
5000                    71 %

The first variant makes the game slightly easier, while the second variant makes almost the entire adventure more difficult. However, towards the very end of the game, it will become easier, especially against enemies with the highest damage output, such as Simon, provided you manage to build up your characters' Defense, of course.

Incompatibilities
Any mod editing BP_BattleDamages conflict with this.
Expedition Rebalance Mod mod I recommend edits this last file, its only change here is to allow damage to reach 33,333 instead of the usual vanilla cap of 9,999. This is why there are 4 download files in total: 2 for my variants and another 2 that can be combined with this mod while keeping the 33,333 damage cap.
Remove VonFrank33333DamageCap_P if uses Expedition Rebalance Mod
