New Pictos

New Pictos

Mod that adds 30 Pictos to the game. Pictos are a mix of restored cut content, re-worked/re-imagined, and brand new Pictos with passive effects not directly copied from somewhere else in the files. Includes new Buffs, Status Effects, and a special Pictos specific to each characters main combat mechanic.

Description
The new Pictos enhance combat in a variety of ways. Several Status Effects are now able to be directly gained/inflicted by the party, including Curse, Frozen, and a new effect I created called "Scourge". Other Pictos enhance free aim and base attack damage, or boost overall damage.

The mod comes in 2 forms. The "Progression" variant places each of the 30 Pictos at merchants scattered all throughout the game. You will earn the new Pictos as you progress the story, and the more powerful Pictos will be found in later merchants. Designed for those who want to explore the new Pictos as a part of a new game.

The "Endgame" variant places the 30 new Pictos at 2 different endgame merchants, each holding half of them. Designed for those already complete or near-completion who just want to quickly grab the new Pictos without tracking down all the different merchants.

Installation instructions
choose ONE variant, "Progression" or "Endgame" and install that in your ~mods folder. If installing the optional Pictos sort mod, copy that to your ~mods folder as well. Don't change the "0000" prefix to ensure this mod loads before any others that share assets.

Main features
The mod represents several months of work by me. It is not some AI slop. It is mostly achieved via heavy kismet bytecode editing of in game assets. About 10 of the Pictos were cooked in Unreal Editor, and then bytecode edited. DM me if you want any of my python tooling, guide to kismet editing, etc that I created for E33 projects.

Requirements
This modpack itself is substantial in terms of assets, however shared assets are essentially just:

*DT_jRPG_ITEMS_COMPOSITE
*DT_jRPG_ITEMS
*DT_PASSIVEEFFECTS
*DT_PICTOSDEFINITIONS
*Merchant Tables

This mod is FULLY COMPATIBLE with Enhanced Descriptions (I use inline text for all my entries) but it needs to load FIRST (so don't rename it). Its also compatible with the core of Requiem Difficulty, though it does override Requiems merchant data tables (which only slightly change consumable drops--nothing major). I did my best to keep the shared footprint small, including making a modded DT_Balancing_Luminas for one less shared asset.
