Ulfsheim Wardens

Some halls need more than a door and a fire. Ulfsheim Wardens brings named Dvergr companions, dependable base caretakers, and a complete Dvergr building collection to Valheim while keeping the dedicated server free of required mod files.

Wardens and caretakers
[]Build the Dvergr Warden Ward to call Grimr, a steadfast guard who can patrol his home or follow you into the wild. []Build Brynja's Scout Table to call Brynja, a sharp-eyed second companion with her own home and commands. []Place a Dvergr Lamp to call a standard-named immortal archer caretaker. Every lamp receives its own archer, allowing several bases to be watched independently. []The ordinary Dvergr Standing Lantern remains decorative and never calls a Warden. []Wardens can follow or guard, open suitable doors, rest at nearby furniture, repair damaged structures, and tend coal-burning furnaces and finite-fuel lights at dawn. []Followers can accompany their player through supported portals and location transitions while they remain loaded by the client.
World map tracking

Grimr and Brynja have distinct portrait pins. Other Wardens use profile-colored runestone badges. A loaded Warden is shown at its live position; after it leaves the client's streamed area, the pin remains at the last verified position and is marked with its last-seen time. Visit a Warden once to establish its local pin.

The map system is client-local. A last-known pin is not live off-zone tracking, and no map data is sent to the dedicated server.

Grimr's and Brynja's portraits are replaceable transparent PNG files:
BepInEx/plugins/UlfsheimWardens/Assets/PinIcons/grimr.png

BepInEx/plugins/UlfsheimWardens/Assets/PinIcons/brynja.png
Replace either file with another transparent PNG and restart Valheim.

Dvergr construction collection

The Hammer's Decor tab gains 66 native Dvergr pieces, including timber and black-marble construction, workshop furniture, gates, doors, lanterns, demisters, altar crystals, and harmless display versions of native Dvergr items.

Public-release recipes use materials that suit each piece instead of charging the same Wood cost for everything. Timber structures use appropriately scaled wood and metal fittings; masonry uses Black Marble; cloth pieces use Blue Jute; lanterns and mechanisms use copper, iron, resin, and other fitting components; and specialized Mistlands pieces require materials appropriate to their purpose. Brynja's Scout Table retains its dedicated mixed-material recipe.

Future Wardens and support

More Dvergr are planned. I build Ulfsheim Wardens in my limited spare time after work, so new companions will arrive as time allows.

Requirements
[]BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2333 or newer []Jotunn 2.30.1 or newer
Installation
[]Install BepInExPack Valheim and Jotunn on the client. []Extract the archive into the Valheim game directory, preserving its BepInEx/plugins path. []Confirm that BepInEx/plugins/UlfsheimWardens/UlfsheimWardens.dll and its Assets/PinIcons folder are present. []Remove any older copy of UlfsheimWardens.dll so that the plugin loads only once.
Start Valheim.
Multiplayer and dedicated servers

Ulfsheim Wardens is client-optional. Install it on every client that needs the build recipes, Warden commands, custom presentation, or local map pins. It does not require a dedicated-server component and should not be installed on a server that is intended to remain unmodded.

The placed structures and companions retain native Valheim network identities. Unmodded players can reconstruct the native objects, but they will not receive the custom menus, commands, map pins, names, or presentation. At least one nearby modded client must be present for Warden-specific behavior to run.

Existing worlds

The plugin retains the earlier Warden network keys and saved identities. Existing wards, companions, old archer guardstones, and old archer tankards remain recognizable. Earlier display pieces that are not part of this public package remain as their safe native scenery roots.

Important limitations
[]Map pins are live only while the Warden is loaded by that client; otherwise they show the last verified location. []Warden behavior cannot run in an unloaded area without a nearby modded client. []Do not load two copies of UlfsheimWardens.dll at the same time. []This public package does not contain the two private themed display assets.
