📜 Robert’s Rebellion – Families Expanded
[heading]A Realm of Thrones Timeline Add-On[/heading]
This mod transforms Realm of Thrones into a Robert’s Rebellion era campaign start, built around the fall of the Targaryen dynasty, the rise of Robert Baratheon, and a rewritten political world state for long roleplay campaigns.
This mod expands and adjusts clans, kingdoms, family trees, character ages, banners, and timeline placement so the world makes more sense for a campaign set during the War of the Usurper.

⚠️ Important Realm of Thrones Setting
[heading]Turn ROT Events OFF and Turn OFF Most Storyline Wars in ROT's Settings![/heading]
Realm of Thrones events should be turned OFF for best stability and timeline consistency.
The default ROT event system is built around the standard Realm of Thrones timeline, not Robert’s Rebellion. Leaving events on may create lore conflicts, strange character behavior, or world-state issues.
[line]
⚠️ Starting War Limitation
Bannerlord and Realm of Thrones do not always preserve custom starting wars perfectly when beginning a new campaign.
Because of this, some wars may need to be manually adjusted after the campaign begins.
[heading]Recommended tools:[/heading]
[]Bannerlord GameMaster[/]
[]Bannerlord Commander[/]
Use these to manually set or correct the starting wars for your preferred version of Robert’s Rebellion.
Suggested war setup examples:
House Targaryen vs Robert’s Rebellion
House Targaryen vs The North
House Targaryen vs The Vale
House Targaryen vs The Riverlands
House Targaryen vs The Stormlands / Robert’s Rebellion
You can also create your own alternate-history setup, such as:
Dorne supports the Targaryens
The Reach supports the Targaryens
The Iron Islands raid everyone
Essos stays out of the war
This limitation is up front because the mod is designed as a roleplay world-state overhaul, and Bannerlord diplomacy can require manual setup for the exact war scenario you want.

[]Bran Stark[/]
[]Rickon Stark[/]
[]Joffrey Baratheon[/]
[]Myrcella Baratheon[/]
[]Tommen Baratheon[/]
[]Shireen Baratheon[/]
This helps prevent obvious future-era characters from appearing in a campaign where they should not have been born yet.
[line]
🛡️ Restored & Corrected Important Characters
This mod also restores or adjusts many important characters for the era.
Examples include:
[]Jaime Lannister[/]
[]Tyrion Lannister[/]
Some characters have been moved from wanderer-style setups into more useful noble/clan roles where it made sense for the campaign.
[line]
🏴 Banners, Clans, and Kingdom Identity
Many banners, clan names, and faction identities have been adjusted to better fit the Robert’s Rebellion world state.
This includes fixes for:
[]Targaryen royal banners[/]
[]Baratheon rebel identity[/]
[]Second Sons / Slaver’s Bay identity[/]
[]Essos kingdoms that no longer make sense as Targaryen factions[/]
[]Duplicate or incorrect clan identities[/]
[]Future-era faction names[/]
[]Robert’s Rebellion naming[/]
[]House placement consistency[/]
Some UI mods may read names from different places, so minor naming inconsistencies may still appear depending on your full mod list.
[line]
🌊 Essos / Mercenary Adjustments
Some Essos factions were adjusted so they make more sense outside the later Daenerys/Aegon timeline.
Changes include cleanup for:
[]Slaver’s Bay[/]
[]Second Sons[/]
[]Disputed Lands[/]
[]Old Targaryen claimant factions[/]
[]Mercenary clan leadership[/]
[]Essos banners and faction identity[/]
The goal is to prevent later-show or later-book politics from taking over a Robert’s Rebellion campaign start.

📌 Known Limitations
[heading]Starting Wars[/heading]
Starting wars may need manual adjustment with Bannerlord GameMaster or Bannerlord Commander.
[heading]UI Name Display[/heading]
Some UI mods may read kingdom or clan names from different sources, so certain labels may not always display exactly as intended.
[heading]Realm of Thrones Events[/heading]
ROT events should be turned off because they are designed for the default timeline.
[heading]Long Campaign Variance[/heading]
Bannerlord campaigns naturally evolve in unpredictable ways, especially with diplomacy, marriage, deaths, and clan decisions. This mod sets up the world state, but the campaign will still develop dynamically.
