Dragon Class
Play as a true dragon. A full 1–20 Charisma caster class with a playable dragon form: scaling breath weapons, natural attacks, true flight, and the best playable-dragon animations on Nexus — custom-built walking, flying, jumping, and casting. Three subclasses: the anti-mage Arbiter, shadowy Shadestalker, and essence-fueled Font.

The Dragon is a full custom class for Baldur's Gate 3: a Charisma full caster built on a dragon's chassis. Sorcerer-style spellcasting fused with a playable dragon form, scaling breath weapons, natural attacks, unarmored draconic scales, and true flight — authored for levels 1 through 20.
This class is deliberately powerful. It is a fantasy about BEING a dragon, not about fair fights. If you want a balanced martial, this is not that mod. If you want to erase a goblin camp with a breath weapon and then counterspell the survivors, welcome home.
And yes — the dragon form actually animates. Walking, flying, jumping, casting, reactions: all custom-assembled from Larian's own animation data, far beyond what playable-dragon mods have managed before.
Main features
The class
[]Charisma full caster: spells known and full spell slot progression in the Sorcerer's style, plus always-known dragon spells as you level.[/]
[]Choose your element — fire, cold, lightning, acid, or poison. Your breath, your resistances, your immunities, and your dragon's color all follow it.[/]
[]Scaling breath weapon from level 1, growing through Breath Surge (bonus-action breaths) into the devastating Cataclysm Breath at the top of the arc.[/]
[]Unarmored draconic scales AC, hardening with age into Ancient Scales.[/]
[]Glide early; unfurl your wings for true flight as you grow.[/]
[]Full 1–20 feature arc, capped by Ascendant Wyrm. Levels 1–12 are a complete, satisfying arc on their own for vanilla-cap players.[/]
Dragon Form
[]A playable dragon body with natural weapons: Rend (claws and bite with your element's rider) and Opportunity Bite — your attacks of opportunity snap jaws instead of swinging an invisible weapon.[/]
[]Every spell casts with real dragon animations. Movement, teleports, jumps, and flight all work and all animate.[/]
[]Custom-built locomotion: the walk is a hand-composited animation (retimed quadruped gait with the dragon's own folded wings) that exists nowhere in the game's data.[/]
Three subclasses
[]Embodiment of the Arbiter — the anti-mage. Devour magic, bind counterspells into your scales, and unmake lesser casters.[/]
[]Embodiment of the Shadestalker — the shadow controller. See through darkness, strike from it, and vanish again.[/]
[]Embodiment of the Font — the essence engine. A pool of Draconic Essence fuels reshaped spellcasting that breaks the usual rules.[/]

Requirements
[]Norbyte's BG3 Script Extender — required.[/]
[]5e Spells — required for several high-level bonus spells (granted at 13/15).[/]
[]Advanced Tabletop Spells — required alongside 5e Spells for the same bonus spells.[/]
[]Expansion (level 20 cap unlocker) — strongly recommended; needed to play levels 13–20. Without it the class works normally to the vanilla cap of 12.[/]
[]BG3 Mod Manager recommended for installation.[/]
PC only.
Installation
[]Install the Script Extender and the required mods above.[/]
[]Drop DragonClass.pak into your Mods folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods) or import it with BG3 Mod Manager.[/]
[]Enable it in BG3 Mod Manager and export your load order.[/]
[]If you also use Dragontamer: load Dragon Class AFTER it (both override the same dragon animation resource).[/]
Safe to add to an existing save. Do not remove mid-playthrough with a Dragon-class character in the party.
Compatibility notes
[]Standalone class with its own progression table — no vanilla progressions are edited.[/]
[]Overrides the Attack of Opportunity interrupt entry (the same entry Larian's Sentinel feat wiring lives in) to enable Opportunity Bite; only conflicts with mods that edit that same entry.[/]
[]Overrides the red dragon's animation-set resource; conflicts resolve by load order (see Installation).[/]
Known quirks
[]Dialogue cinematics don't handle a dragon-shaped protagonist gracefully — use Mortal Guise before important conversations.[/]
[]Fire, acid, and poison breath visuals aim slightly low in dragon form (the damage area is always correct). Cold and lightning breaths use retargeted spell FX and aim true.[/]
[]The white dragon model still has some black splotches from the retexture work I haven't resolved yet.[/]
[]Casting Assume Dragon Form while in Dragon Form doesn't properly scale the model down anymore.[/]

Shout outs
[]The author of Dragontamer — the proof that a playable dragon was possible, and the pioneer of the animation-set technique this mod learned from. No Dragontamer assets are included or required, but the trail was blazed there.[/]
[]Norbyte — LSLib and the Script Extender, without which none of this exists.[/]
[]The 5e Spells, Advanced Tabletop Spells, and Expansion teams.[/]
[]The Demi-Dragon 5e homebrew, the inspiration for this class that it outgrew a bit.[/]
[]Larian Studios, for a game worth modding this hard.[/]
