Origin Traits

Origin Traits

Each origin companion gets a unique ability chain that grows with their level and unlocks further as their personal story advances.

Description
Origin Traits gives origin characters a signature ability chain nobody else can have - one that grows as they level, and deepens as their personal story does.

Traits branch on the choices you actually make. An Ascended Astarion and a freed Astarion do not play the same. Neither do Shar's Shadowheart and Selûne's.

Works whether you recruit the character or play as them. Safe to add to a save in progress - milestones you have already passed are granted the next time you load.

Features
This release covers Karlach, Astarion, Shadowheart, and Gale. The other three origins are planned for later updates.
[]Karlach - The Infernal Engine. Her engine builds Heat as she fights, adding Fire damage to every swing, and Vent dumps it all at once in a burst of flame. Repair the engine with Dammon and she stops burning herself; kill Gortash and she stops fighting it altogether.[/]
[]Astarion - Hunger of the Pale Elf. He hits wounded things harder, opens bleeding wounds on a critical hit, and Feeds on prey that cannot stop him. Learn who his master is and he starts marking prey for the whole party - then Cazador's fate decides whether he becomes something worse, or stays himself.[/]
[]Shadowheart - The Chosen Blade. A frontline cleric who decides who lives. Intervention swaps her place with an ally in trouble and heals them - they get out, she takes their place. The Nightsong's fate splits her in two: Shar's dark, where she fights unseen and unblindable, or Selûne's Moonwell, a shaft of moonlight that burns enemies and mends allies standing in it. Both paths turn her legendary spear into the centre of her kit.[/]
[]Gale - Arcane Hunger (opt-in beta - enabled via MCM). The appetite never left. Earn the Netherese Reliquary and any magic item dropped inside is devoured on the spot, leaving Distilled Weave behind (works with magical items from other mods). Charges are banked, not rested back, so holding them is armour and spending them is power: Siphon for damage, Overchannel for extra projectiles. The crown in Act 3 splits him - Crown of Karsus sharpens the hunger, Mystra’s Mercy turns it back into spell slots.[/]
