-Adds the Beast Tamer class to the game with three subclasses: Adventurer, Competitor, and Researcher

-Spawns Spirit Beasts throughout the game. There are many ways to acquire them but most often you will have to catch them in the wild. There are 61 different Spirit Beasts currently able to be used.

-Spirit Beasts can be transformed using certain items, or by other methods.

-New equipment has been added that specifically supports the new class.

This mod is pretty big and complicated - while I've tested it as much as I can, consider this a Beta Test and please let me know if anything goes wrong or is not user friendly.

How the Beast Tamer Class Works
Summoning, Withdrawing, and Resummoning
Summons for the Beast Tamer work a bit differently than other summons in Baldur's Gate 3. There is no cooldown or Spell Slot cost to summoning them. However, you have a special resource called "Bench Slots" that you use each time you summon a new Spirit Beast for the day.
As the name implies, you can withdraw a Spirit Beast you summoned and keep it on your "bench" to send out later. You can Resummon a benched Spirit Beast without using up a bench slot, but it will keep the same HP and Power Points (their Spellcasting resource) it had when it was withdrawn.
-So for example, you'd cast "Summon Palurog" to send out your first summon, using up a Bench Slot.
-Then, you'd cast "Withdraw Spirit Beast" on the summoned Palurog to withdraw it to your bench.
-"Summon Palurog" will be greyed out, but you'll have access to a temporary spell "Resummon Palurog", which you can use to send it out again.
It sounds complicated, but you can think of it as returning your summons to their "Spirit Ball" and sending them out again, with a limit to how many "Spirit Balls" you can use per day.
There is also a limit to how many Spirit Beasts you can have active at once. At first, this limit is 1. Later on, it becomes 2. This is represented by your "Active Creature Points"

Catching Spirit Beasts
This mod adds hostile Spirit Beasts to the wild. You can capture them using the action "Catch Spirit Beast". The less HP the Spirit Beast has left, the higher the chance of your catch attempt succeeding. Inflicting statuses can also increase your chances, as can weakening the target's ability to make Saving Throws.
The Spirit Beast must remain conscious to be caught. So no non-lethal attacks followed by infinite catch chances.
Some Spirit Beasts you encounter are more friendly. Often they become catchable if you pass an Animal Handling Check, which you can make once per day. Or, they can sometimes be plied with food. In one case, you need to bring something that appeals to its child-like nature.
Once you catch a beast, its Spirit Ball will end up in your inventory. Keeping this in your inventory is what unlocks the spell to summon them. You can catch multiples of the same type of Spirit Beast, but you can only send out one of each type per day.

Subclasses
The subclasses are pretty much based on the main archetypes from the Pokemon mythos. Subclass features hit at levels 2, 4, 7, 10, and 12.
Competitor:
Based on the notion of a competitive Spirit Beast battling scene - this is your "Gym Leader" or "League Champion" subclass.
Mechanically, it focuses on choosing permanent buffs for your Spirit Beasts. Some of these buffs apply to every one of your summons, while others focus on a particular "Domain", which is like their elemental type or affinity. As you level up, the pool of upgrades expands.
This subclass is very straightforward but it gives you a lot to choose from.
Adventurer:
Based on the figure of an outdoorsman who travels with Spirit Beasts - in pursuit of catching more Spirit Beasts.
This subclass gains specific upgrades at each of the aforementioned levels. The upgrades center around cooperation between Spirit Beasts and the summoner, as well as some utility options.
This is the subclass that let's you ride your Spirit Beasts :). (Although it isn't animated)
Researcher:
Based on recurring character in every Pokemon game. Think of this class as the professor in their prime.
This class gains spells that it can cast on its Spirit Beasts, and uses a resource called "Research Points" to cast them. Research Points replenish with a Short Rest.
What makes them unique is that you increase your Research Points by catching new types of Spirit Beasts (not duplicates). Any method of acquiring a Spirit Beast counts, and they are counted permanenty even if you lose the Spirit Ball or respec.
Spells mostly involve healing, buffing, and one teleportation spell. Healing Spells are boosted by your Intelligence stat, (the only use of Intelligence for the class). The buffs get more interesting as you level up, and you may need to theorycraft which of your summons uses which buff most effectively.
Here is a spreadsheet containing the locations of all Spirit beasts. There are major spoilers as this spreadsheet reveals every Spirit Beast and it's location:
