Kikyo's Wilderness Camp Overhaul

Kikyo's Wilderness Camp Overhaul

A beautiful camp replacer that changes the Act 1 Wilderness camp into a cozy place of mystery and myth.

I am so happy with how this turned out. This is a camp override mod that replaces the boring and ugly looking Act 1 camp, which, to me, always had a lot of potential for decorations. This was the first time i used the Toolkit and it took a lot of headaches to create this mod, so i hope you like it. At first i just wanted to make it for myself but then thought to share it with y'all. I placed some references in here as well from things i love and will list them below ❤️

Compatible with mods that edit already existing Companion tents, though there might be clipping depending on how much is added onto the tents and where they are located.

Not compatible with Tavs Tent in every camp or any mod that adds completely new tents to the camp itself.

Will conflict with mods that alter this camp (obviously) or the WLD_Main_A grid as they would override each other.

Due to health issues, i distracted myself a little bit and started modding again. Now the Wilderness Camp got expanded and not only includes the camp i already made, but also an overhaul of the Basement, Jergal's Temple and the Sand Cave camp! Now these neglected and dirty camps finally have a cozy touch to them, with inspiration from more Studio Ghibli films (i wonder if you can guess which ones).

You can find them by going to the
Goblin Village (the basement where a certain funny book is), the chapel where you recruit Withers and in the cave where you find the Owlbear.

I plan on opening up a few of these camps more in the future, the more i learn about map editing. For now, enjoy!

Currently there are some things to look out for that i cannot change as of now and that will be a minor inconvenience. In order to fix those issues i probably have to learn how to script items and events attached to them and that is not yet my main priority, but will be tackled later on as i learn more and more to work with the Toolkit.

1. When installing this mod during an ongoing playthrough, items like the books, crates, blue tents and torches will be in their original place and not in the spaces i assigned them to. That is because of the scripts attached to them most likely (haven't figured that one out yet).

2. If you uninstall it mid-playthrough while you used this mod, the Terrain and scenery and newly added items will revert back to their       original appearance. But the items that were originally on this map will stay where i put them. This results in empty looking spaces.

[s]3. I was not able to remove the Stone bed, one of the training dummies, the water barrel and the table with the unmoveable crate. That is because the toolkit loaded the camp into a state of BEFORE you enter it for the very first time. And the items that appear are always    loaded AFTER you enter it for the first time. I suggest downloading this mod: Move and Rotate Anything (now with UI). It allows you to    delete those items. Always save before doing so in case something goes wrong[/s]! - Fixed in Version 2.6

4. Some Cutscenes and situations could look funky cuz of all the new terrain, i haven't tested that yet properly as i had no time to play    the game. The Tiefling party works well in this remake, idk about the Goblin party though because it adds a cage and that might clip.

5. Some crates and environmental items have become non-reachable for some reason and there is no way i can fix it yet.
Create a new save if you want to use this mod and keep it for the entirety of the playthrough. If you want to play older save files without it changing the camp you can just disable it in your modmanager and it should not alter your files despite it being an override mod.
I am a huge Zelda-fan and love Studio Ghibli movies, as well as the game Okami (which my OC is based on too!). So of course a lot of what you see is inspired by them, be it their style or characters!

The lil tree stump with the green spirit next to it is a reference to Ocarina of Time's Saria where she sits and plays her Ocarina. The flute symbolizes the Skull Kid from Majora's Mask.

Throughout the map I have hidden some small little homes for forest spirits which is a reference to Spirited Away, when Chihiro drives to the new town with her parents.

The shrine with all the wolf statues is to worship the sun goddess Amaterasu. The style of it is inspired by eastern fox shrines. It is also the reason i created an eastern inspired garden around it to complete the look as it gives a sense of serenity. I guess whoever planted those trees must've been from Kozakura!

Deep into the forest you can find ruins who seem so ancient, that their aura alone will stop any adventurer from attempting to move forward. It is, as if time itself is at a halt. The two glowing wolves in front of the open door are a reference to both Amaterasu and the two stone guardians in Zelda Twilight Princess, where you have to solve a puzzle to open the way to the Master Sword. I hated the puzzle but loved the area around it lol.

The design of the seperators were inspired by her and made completely by me to reflect my OC.

Shoutouts to Nikjima for the idea of creating a shrine for Boo! Fun fact, i found a teeny tiny sleeping bag while moving stuff around in the camp and apparently, Larian was hiding this there under all the Debris. I didn't change the size, it was already like this on the floor lol.
