Sword Sigil Sorcery Subclass

Sword Sigil Sorcery, a new spell sword subclass for the Sorcerer. Use Sword Sigil engravings to enhance your melee bonded weapon's attacks with Sorcery Points.


[size=5][b]Level 1: Bond of Sword and Sorcery[/b][/size]
You can engrave a sorcerous sigil to a melee weapon to form a bond. You have proficiency with the bonded weapon and it cannot be forcibly disarmed from you. You can only have one bonded weapon at a time and the bond ends if you bond with another weapon or if you die.

[b][size=5]Level 1: Sorcerous Sword[/size][/b]
As a Bonus Action, you can infuse magic into your bonded weapon. Weapon attacks made with your bonded weapon have Advantage and deal your choice of an additional 1d4 Acid, Fire, Cold, Lightning, Poison, or Thunder damage. You choose the damage element when you bond with the weapon and the damage increases to 2d4 at level 5, 3d4 at level 11, and 4d4 at level 17. After being used, you must take a short or long rest before being able to be used again.

[b][size=5]Level 1: Close Combat Mage[/size][/b]
You gain proficiency with light and medium armor and being within melee range of a hostile creature doesn’t impose Disadvantage on your ranged spell attack rolls.


[b][size=5]Level 2: Sword Sigils[/size][/b]
You may choose 2 Sword Sigils starting at level 2. You can choose an additional Sword Sigil at every odd level, starting at level 3, then 5, 7, 9, etc.

[b][size=4]Careful Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to add your Proficiency Bonus to your AC until the beginning of your next turn when you attack with your bonded weapon.

[size=4][b]Distant Sigil[/b][/size]
You can spend 2 Sorcery Points to instantly teleport to an enemy within 15m and attack them with your bonded weapon.

[b][size=4]Empowered Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to roll your damage for weapon attacks made by your bonded weapon with Advantage. In addition, the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking with your bonded weapon by 1. This effect can stack.

[b][size=4]Extended Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to add an additional 2m of range to your bonded weapon until the end of your turn.

[b][size=4]Heightened Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 2 Sorcery Points to stagger enemies hit by your bonded weapon. They have Disadvantage on their next Saving Throw until the end of their next turn.

[b][size=4]Quickened Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to make a weapon attack as a Bonus Action with your bonded weapon.

[b][size=4]Seeking Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to reroll a weapon attack roll with your bonded weapon.

[b][size=4]Subtle Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to replace one of your weapon attacks with a casting of one of your cantrips that has a casting time of an action without its verbal or somatic components.

[b][size=4]Transmuted Sigil[/size][/b]
You can spend 1 Sorcery Point to convert your bonded weapon's damage type to the damage type chosen when bonding with the weapon. Dealing damage with the weapon inflicts a condition related to the element chosen.

[size=4][b]Twinned Sigil[/b][/size]
You can spend 2 Sorcery Points to make an additional attack with your bonded weapon against any other creature of your choice within melee range.

[heading][size=5]Level 14[b]: Bond of Metal and Mind[/b][/size][/heading]
Your bond with your weapon is strengthened, allowing you to teleport the blade to your hand or vice versa. You can magically sense everything around your bonded weapon in a 10m radius.
[heading][size=5]Level 18: [b]Soul Stealing Sword[/b][/size][/heading]
Killing an enemy with your bonded weapon steals their soul, restoring 1 Sorcery Point.

[size=5][b]Level 18: Vow of Soul and Sword[/b][/size]
Once per long rest, when you are reduced to less than 1 HP, you are instead reduced to 1 HP and you magically teleport to the Sword Plane until the start of your next turn. 
 
[heading]Sword Sigil Masteries[/heading]
Choose one at levels 12, 19, and 20

[b]Elementalist[/b]
Your weapon's damage type becomes the element you are attuned to. Elemental conditions from the Transmuted Sword Sigil have extra effects.

[b]Critical Impact[/b]
When your Empowered Sword Sigil is active, you can further reduce the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking with your bonded weapon by 1. In addition, when you deal damage with your bonded weapon you can spend an additional 2 Sorcery Points to maximize your damage.

[b]Spell Cleaver[/b]
Your Extended Sword Sigil grants an additional 1m of range to your bonded weapon and you can make an additional attack when using your Twinned Sword Sigil.

[b]War Weaver[/b]
After using Subtle Sword Sigil to cast a cantrip, you can replace your extra attack with another cantrip as long as it uses your bonded weapon as a component.

[b]Cautious Mage[/b]
While under the effects of Careful Stance, you add your Proficiency Bonus to your saving throws.

In addition, whenever you are under the effects of Innate Sorcery, weapon attacks made with your bonded weapon have Advantage and deal your choice of an additional 1d4 Fire, Cold, Lightning, or Thunder damage. You choose the damage element when you bond with the weapon and the damage increases to 2d4 at level 5, 3d4 at level 11, and 4d4 at level 17.

Sword Sigils
You may choose 2 Sword Sigils starting at level 3. You can choose 2 additional Sword Sigils at levels 6, 9, 12, and 14.
