部分农场主可能会问：

“我种了这么多年地，为什么突然开始收我的钱？”

这是一个合理的问题。

但我们希望你不要将其理解为一种惩罚，或是对劳动成果的剥夺。

这只是一个正常社会运行所必需的基本机制。

城镇需要资金。 发展需要货币！

而更好的未来需要所有人的共同参与。

因此，自今日起，以下基础税费正式开始征收！

个人所得税

所得税是整个税务体系的基础。 目前，仅通过出货箱产生的收入会被记录并纳入征税范围。 因此，我们强烈建议各位农场主尽可能减少与本地商人之间的私人现金交易。 频繁的账外交易会给税务征收和统计工作带来不必要的困难。

（金税四期目前正在开发中，我们将严肃的打击违法的偷税漏税等情况，奉劝各位不要有侥幸心理）

房产税

房产税将通过综合评估模型计算。 评估内容包括：

• 重置成本
• 收益潜力价值
• 功能溢价
• 风险保障溢价
• 折旧系数 当然了还会有一些额外的行政费用要用来支持鹈鹕镇资产评估办公室，包括：
• 行政管理费用
• 文书处理费用

为了确保公平，我们采用了目前最先进的资产评估模型之一。 我们的目标是为每一位居民提供一个公平、透明且不会造成额外负担的税务体系。 我们不仅评估你的资产今天值多少钱。 我们同样评估它未来能够创造多少价值。 当然，我们也深知农民生活的不容易。 因此，我们特别推出了整个税务体系中最伟大的福利项目之一：

农业减免

该减免项目每周最高可减少 1000g 的税务负担。 减免额度完全取决于你的实际耕地面积。 耕地越多，获得的支持越多。 毕竟，如果有人值得获得特殊照顾，那应该是养活整个山谷的农场主。

经营资产税

随着农场规模不断扩大，部分生产资料将被纳入额外评估范围。

只要有smapi就能玩，偷偷给老乡们一点提示，这个提示只有中文部分有，那就是经营资产税才是最危险的，如果你非要用小桶酿美洲大树莓的话我估计你只能等我把银行系统做出来再贷款了，哦对了现在我修改后，你的钱已经可能是负的了，当你负债时所有收入进账瞬间就会被自动划扣，劝各位量力而行，尤其你那个破设备要是没有在产出价值就赶紧铲了吧，20个以上同类设备可就开始征税了

Welcome, Farmers.

After years of development and growth, Pelican Town is finally welcoming one of the most important institutions it should have had all along:

The Pelican Town Tax Authority. Alongside it comes the Pelican Town Property Assessment Office. Harvey’s Clinic has also officially established the Pelican Town Medical Insurance Fund.

Future plans may include:

Pelican Town Bank Pelican Town Stock Exchange (Both pending approval.)

Some of you may be wondering: “I’ve been farming for years. Why are you suddenly asking me for money?” That’s a fair question.

But we hope you do not see this as confiscation, punishment, or an attempt to take away the fruits of your labor. This is simply how a functioning society operates.

A town requires funding. Development requires resources. And a better future requires everyone’s participation. Therefore, beginning today, the following basic taxes will be collected.

Income Tax Income Tax serves as the foundation of the entire tax system. At present, only income generated through the Shipping Bin is recorded and taxed. For this reason, we strongly encourage all farmers to minimize private cash transactions with local merchants whenever possible. Frequent off-the-books transactions make tax collection and statistical reporting unnecessarily difficult.

Property Tax Property Tax is calculated through a comprehensive assessment process that includes: Replacement Cost (RC) Income Potential Value (IPV) Utility Premium (UP) Risk Shield Premium (RSP) Depreciation Factors Administrative Fees Documentation Fees To ensure fairness, we have adopted one of the most advanced tax assessment models currently available. Our goal is to provide every resident with a tax system that is fair, transparent, and completely free of unnecessary burden. We assess not only what your property is worth today. We assess what it can become tomorrow. Of course, we also understand that farming is hard work. Which is why we proudly offer one of the most generous programs in the entire tax system: Agricultural Deduction (AD). This deduction can reduce your tax burden by up to 1,000g per week. The amount you receive depends entirely on how much land you actively cultivate. The more you farm, the more support you receive. After all, if anyone deserves special treatment, it should probably be the farmers feeding the entire valley.

Business Property Tax As your farming operation expands, certain productive assets may become subject to additional assessment. This includes equipment such as: Kegs Preserves Jars Bee Houses Cheese Presses And other commercial-scale production facilities. Please note that the first 20 units of each equipment type are currently exempt from taxation. This is one of the many benefits and support programs we proudly provide to local farmers. We care about you. We love you. Please understand: Once you own one hundred kegs, you are no longer running a small farm. You are operating an industry.

Medical Insurance Program In partnership with Harvey’s Clinic, all residents are automatically eligible to participate in the Pelican Town Medical Insurance Program. Special thanks to Harvey and the Medical Insurance Fund for making this possible. For only 20g per day, participants receive reimbursement for 50% of eligible medical expenses. Because accidents happen. And passing out in a mine should not automatically lead to financial ruin.

Feeling excited already? Good. Because what we are bringing is not simply taxation. It is public service. It is social welfare. It is economic development. It is a better future for everyone.

Please also remember to check your mailbox regularly. Tax statements, insurance records, and other important government documents will all be delivered by mail. In addition, every resident is provided with a detailed Economic Report.

You can access your Economic Report at any time by pressing O.

This report consists of four major sections:

Each report contains detailed information designed to help you better understand your financial situation and economic activities. We strongly encourage all citizens to review these reports regularly. A well-informed taxpayer is a happy taxpayer.

Installation Instructions

1. Install SMAPI.
2. Download Reality Check.
3. Unzip the file.
4. Place the RealityCheck folder into your Stardew Valley Mods folder.
5. Launch the game through SMAPI.

After the first launch, the mod will generate its config file automatically. To open the financial report menu in game, press O.

Main Features

Weekly Taxes

Reality Check adds a weekly tax system to Stardew Valley. Current tax types include:

• Income Tax
• Property Tax
• Business Property Tax

Taxes are calculated through the week and settled as weekly obligations. After settlement, you will receive an official weekly tax notice in the mail.

Custom Tax Notices

Weekly tax notices are shown through a custom document-style menu instead of the vanilla mail page. Tax notices include:

• Tax period
• Settlement date
• Income Tax details
• Property Tax assessment summary
• Business Property Tax formulas
• Total tax due
• Signature confirmation

You must sign the notice before closing it with the close button. Esc is still available as a safety exit.

Health Insurance

Reality Check adds a Harvey medical insurance system. Current behavior:

• Daily premium: 20g
• Coverage rate: 50%
• Collapse or death-related medical costs are detected from actual money loss
• Insurance reimbursement is processed the next morning
• Harvey Medical Clinic sends a claim notice by mail
• Insurance coverage is recorded as an expense offset, not income

Financial Reports

The mod adds financial reports to help you understand where your money comes from and where it goes. Reports include:

• Daily report
• Seasonal report
• Annual report
• Tax report
• Tax history
• Income details
• Expense details
• Outstanding balance

Reality Check is not meant to be a shop receipt tracker for every tiny purchase. It is meant to make long-term farm finances feel more real.

Outstanding Balance

If a Reality Check obligation cannot be paid immediately, the unpaid amount becomes outstanding balance. Future income may be used to pay down outstanding balance automatically.
