Special thanks to moom 1881 for providing the esp file, without whom I couldn't have done this work.

-Shortest description-

This mod is all about music. I keep writing, writing, writing, writing, testing in-game, and then uploading the results, hoping the whole world can enjoy it. It provides a regular version, adding new tracks to the original Skyrim music; there's also a replacement version, which disables (rather than deletes) the original music. Currently, the mod contains 60 tracks, totaling 3 hours, 43 minutes, and 53 seconds of music. The Additional Music Project is now available on Bandcamp.

  • News -

April 1st: The complete Additional Music Project is now easily listenable on YouTube. I've made a video containing all tracks so you can browse through them all with ease.

March 26th: The Additional Music Project is now on sale!

  1. You might have all noticed that I've provided the mp3 files for this mod for free from day one.
  2. So now asking everyone to pay for it seems a bit silly.
  3. Silly or not, you can now show your appreciation for this mod by financially supporting the person who made it.
  4. You are under no obligation or pressure, just given the opportunity.

I am striving hard to get more composition work while juggling a day job, leaving no time to create new tracks. I don't rule out the possibility of new works in the future, but for now, unless I can break through professionally, it's more likely I'll wait for a new Elder Scrolls game to release.

Support for this mod has been great and continues to be so, so thank you to everyone who tried it and gave me valuable feedback.

May 18th: The mp3 section has been updated!

April 18th: Ding 60 New version completed, with 5 new tracks added. 1_6 is ready, available for both replacement and additional versions. The deluxe version is still in the works, the mp3 download hasn't been updated yet.

This update adds 2 dungeon tracks and 3 exploration tracks, making a total of 60 tracks, or rather:

12 Combat tracks 9 Dungeon tracks 2 Keep tracks 37 Exploration tracks (differentiated by daytime, nighttime, dusk, morning, and towns)

Enjoy, but remember, pick flowers before you start swinging.

Note for new customers: Download the mod and extract it into your Elder Scrolls data folder. Path = Valve/Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim/data/ At launch, check AdditionalMusicProject.esp or AdditionalMusicProjectReplacer.esp in the launcher's DATA FILES (do NOT check both!), depending on whether you want to disable the original music. Using the replacement version does not delete the original music, just disables it.

  • Original Description -

The esp file provided here contains 30 tracks I have composed so far, serving as supplementary material for Skyrim's music. In the future, this collection will be updated by adding new tracks, rather than releasing separate expansions.

As an optional file, a small guide is provided on how to use the Creation Kit to adjust this mod.

As another optional file: mp3 format, suitable for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and media players.

The goal of the Skyrim Additional Music Project is to create tracks that are stylistically close to the Elder Scrolls series' music, and even if different, should lean more towards expansion than complete overhaul. The project aims to add musical content rather than replace it, but a replacement version was also made in response to player requests.

The path for xwm files (Skyrim's version of mp3) should be /data/music/Additional Music Collection. The .esp file should be placed in the /data folder.

This is just a hobby of mine, not a profession, so please keep that in mind :). Constructive feedback, comments, suggestions, and questions are always welcome.

The music in this mod is released under the http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0 license.

  • A Simple Check Method -

Before you know a dragon is about to attack, a bandit raid, or similar event, save the game. Load the save and play until confronting the dragon. If you haven't heard any new tracks after 7 to 10 attempts, the mechanism isn't working. The game selects tracks randomly, but after 10 attempts, bad luck can be ruled out.

  • Tracks -

This mod includes:

10 Combat tracks (differentiating between dragon fights and regular combat, some tracks overlap) 3 Dungeon tracks 17 Exploration tracks (broadly categorized, with differences for towns, daytime, morning, dusk, and nighttime)

Here are the ten newest tracks. The full YouTube playlist can be found here.

Combat (Dragon or Other) Storm One-Man Army Absolutely Heroic Moment

Exploration (Night, Dusk, Morning, Day, Town) Dreamweaver Morning Light Eternal Bell Awe for the God-Fearing Choir of the Sneeze Angel Surrounded by History Easy Moment

Some Older Ones: Dragon Battle Trial by Fire Combat For the Old Times Exploration Frostfall Tranquil Life Town Reminiscence of Peaceful Years Dungeon Eerie Place

  • Special Thanks -

Thanks to No_Aardvarks_Allowed for the excellent tutorial and great personalized music mod, where these xwm files can also be used.

  • Old Changelog -

June 19th: New version released Mod version 1.3 released! The deluxe version includes mp3 files of all tracks (hence the larger file size). Currently, the mod contains 44 tracks, totaling approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes of music. The mod offers both replacement and additional version options.

Some new content: Forging a Hero Beyond Haunted Dance of Death

January 18th: Important Update Dear users, I have renamed the file to "Additional Music Project". The folder path will now be music/Additional Music Project, and the esp file name will also be Additional Music Project. I apologize for the back and forth, but after releasing this mod on Steam, adjustments were indeed necessary. These changes are being made now to allow for smoother updates when new music is added in the coming months. The old esp and folder (Additional Music Collection) will no longer be updated, so grit your teeth and re-download now :). Sorry for the inconvenience, organization isn't my strong suit yet; for now ;). The replacement version is in development, but I plan to test it myself before release. I've also started working on new content, but progress is too slow due to an exceptionally busy professional life. The goal was an update in March. (Didn't happen, need even more time... :()

June 14th Important Update A 'beta' update is available in the 'Update File' section of the download area.

This update contains 7 new exploration tracks.

You need to download the June 2013 update file and extract it somewhere (desktop recommended), then manually copy the new xwm files to Valve/Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim/Data/Music/AdditionalMusicProject directory.

Also download the new .esp file and overwrite the old one.

The replacement version is slightly different. I made a separate .esp file named AddtionalMusicProjectReplacer1_2b.esp. This is a precautionary measure; it will now appear as a separate .esp in the launcher's data files. Once the update is finalized, I will provide an .esp file that overwrites the regular version. When playing the game, you can only use ONE of the .esp files! Therefore, uncheck AddtionalMusicReplacer.esp and check AddtionalMusicReplacer1_2b.esp!

To hear a preview, go here and look for tracks 31 to 37. (At the bottom of the playlist)

September 17th: Version 1_4 released New version now available, increasing total tracks to 50, finally surpassing the 3-hour mark. Like 1_3, the mod comes in two forms: Standard and Deluxe. The Deluxe also includes mp3 files for each track (no effect on the game itself, only useful for media players, etc.). I have not tested it extensively, please share your thoughts in the comments.

April 11th: Small update, including two tracks and volume + allocation fixes. After downloading, extract the rar file to the /data folder and overwrite all files when prompted. This update applies ONLY to the replacement version and requires version 1_5 to run!

March 24th: Version 1_5 available for testing I have uploaded an update containing 5 new tracks: one dungeon theme, two city themes, and two nighttime themes. Both the main file and deluxe version files have been updated, along with a dedicated update package for version 1_4 users. Please refer to the documentation in the paragraphs below for specific operating instructions. A standalone mp3 format download pack is also open simultaneously. This update applies to both the replacement and standard versions.

If you are updating from version 1_3 Manually add the 6 new tracks to the Data/Music/Additional Music Project folder and replace the ESP file you currently have in your data folder. This update adds new music for forts for the first time, which is also a first attempt for me :)
