Superman: Son of Krypton is an ongoing attempt to bring a comprehensive Superman experience into Minecraft while maintaining the soul of the game.

Become a Kryptonian, grow into your powers, discover the Fortress of Solitude, raise Krypto, master destructive abilities and experience Minecraft’s world from Superman’s perspective.

The mod is self-contained and requires no additional mods. All code was created with generative AI.

Becoming Superman

1. Search standard Forest biomes for a Baby Pod Crash Site.
2. Interact with the pod to receive a Pod Core and House of El Star Map.
3. Use the Star Map to locate a Fortress of Solitude in a snowy biome.
4. Explore the Fortress, activate its systems and complete Genesis Calibration under direct daylight.
5. You will emerge as a Level 0 Kryptonian and receive three in-game guides explaining powers, Kryptonite and Krypto.

Progression is based on cumulative time spent at full Solar Energy:

• Level 1: 5 minutes
• Level 2: 10 additional minutes
• Level 3: 15 additional minutes
• Level 4: 20 additional minutes

Each level introduces more advanced powers, greater strength and increasingly destructive abilities.

Kryptonian Powers

Master an extensive collection of abilities:

• Super sprinting and velocity-driven super jumps
• Hover, sprint and boost flight
• Twin and strong heat vision
• Freeze breath and super breath
• Night, X-ray and Kryptonite vision
• Super Hearing with distant activity and danger markers
• Enhanced punches and shockwave claps
• Upward and downward drilling
• Tornado spin
• Solar Flare
• Large-scale block lifting
• Extreme durability and solar-powered regeneration

Beam and vision abilities use scrollable selectors, allowing powers to share straightforward controls without filling the keyboard with separate keybinds.

Strength and Destruction

Grab mobs or players, carry one target in each hand and throw them across the world.

Thrown entities can create velocity and mass-scaled impact craters. Block structures remain visually anchored while being lifted, and boost flight can carve directly through terrain without producing thousands of item drops.

Movement, carrying, lifted objects, capes and ability animations are synchronized for multiplayer visibility.

Flight and Animation

Flight includes dedicated hover, sprint, boost, carrying, falling and landing states with smooth transitions between them.

Superman’s body responds to changes in velocity and direction, while improved cape physics react differently during upright movement and horizontal flight. Super sprinting, jumping, falling, punching, throwing, drilling and lifting also have custom animations.

Solar Energy

Sunlight restores Solar Energy, with faster charging available at greater altitudes.

Using powers drains this reserve. When it reaches zero, Kryptonian abilities shut down until energy returns.

Each equipped Superman suit piece stores emergency Solar Energy independently. The suit automatically releases this reserve when the main bar becomes critically low.

The Mini Sun provides portable amplified solar charging and a slight gravitational pull.

Superman Prime One Million

A Level 4 Kryptonian who remains fully charged at the maximum solar altitude for one minute can temporarily enter the Superman Prime One Million state.

This form provides true invulnerability, unlimited Solar Energy, greatly increased movement speed and massively expanded powers.

Krypto

Use a Kryptonian Collar on any wolf to transform it into a Krypto.

• Tame wild Kryptos
• Heal and breed tamed Kryptos
• Raise puppies with smaller capes and developing powers
• Use X-Kryptonite to accelerate growth
• Recall and command every Krypto you own with the House of El Whistle
• Fly with multiple adult Kryptos arranged in formation behind you

Tamed wolves retain their owner, name, age, collar colour and sitting state when transformed.

Fortress of Solitude

The Fortress is a grand, functional Kryptonian home containing:

• Animated Key Crystal doors
• Genesis and training systems
• Solar amplification stations
• Kryptonian archives
• A Superman suit archive
• Solar Glass and illuminated crystal architecture
• Distinct structural and technological blocks

Kryptonite

Green Kryptonite generates naturally and is the primary survival threat. It drains Solar Energy, weakens Kryptonians and eventually causes damage.

Creative mode also provides experimental Red, Gold, Blue, Silver, X, Pink and Platinum variants, each with distinct effects explained in A Guide to Kryptonite.

The system uses consistent Kryptonite crystals, ores and storage blocks instead of separate shard and dust items.

Suit and Customization

The Superman suit features a custom model, layered geometry and physics-driven cape.

Press N to perform an animated suit transformation. Disguise Glasses can conceal an equipped suit without removing its protection or stored Solar Energy.

Both the standard Superman suit and Fleischer-inspired variant are included.

Development

This mod was created from scratch through iterative, AI-assisted development and continues to expand through testing, experimentation and community feedback.
