Skill Forge
SkillForge is a complete progression mod for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11
SkillForge is a complete progression mod for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11, built with Fabric. It adds a large, server-authoritative skill tree where every player can spend their Minecraft experience levels to unlock permanent abilities, powerful bonuses and specialized playstyles.
Version 1.1.0 expands SkillForge from 4 to 12 unique branches and from 20 to 68 unlockable skills, covering mining, combat, movement, survival, archery, defense, farming, underwater exploration, magic, smithing, the Nether and world exploration.
Main Features
- 12 fully developed skill branches.
- 68 unlockable skills.
- Multi-rank abilities with increasingly powerful bonuses.
- Skills are purchased using normal Minecraft experience levels.
- Prerequisite system with connected progression paths.
- Individual progress for every player.
- Progress is preserved after death, reconnecting and restarting the server.
- Server-side validation of purchases, resets, cooldowns and movement abilities.
- Designed for single-player, LAN worlds and dedicated Fabric servers.
- Complete English and Spanish translations.
- Configurable costs, multipliers, cooldowns, limits, branches and individual skills.
- No mandatory dependencies other than Fabric API.
Skill Tree Interface
Press K to open SkillForge’s custom skill-tree screen.
The interface includes:
- Connected skill nodes arranged according to their prerequisites.
- Separate visual layouts for all 12 branches.
- Locked, available, purchased and selected node states.
- Skill names, descriptions, costs, current ranks and requirements.
- Current experience levels and total levels spent.
- Mouse dragging to move around the tree.
- Mouse-wheel zoom.
- Previous and next branch buttons.
- Keyboard navigation using the arrow keys.
- Automatic node placement and branch organization.
- Support for different resolutions and GUI scales.
- Purchase sounds and visual particles.
- A confirmation screen before resetting the tree.
Experience and Reset System
Every skill rank has a cost between 1 and 5 Minecraft levels. Experience is removed only after the server confirms that:
- The skill exists and is enabled.
- Its prerequisites have been completed.
- The requested rank is valid.
- The player has enough levels.
- The skill has not already reached its maximum rank.
The skill tree can be reset through a confirmation screen. By default, resetting returns 75% of all legitimately spent levels, rounded down.
Server owners can change the refund percentage or disable resets entirely. Administrative grants are not counted as purchased levels and therefore cannot be exploited to generate refundable experience.
Administrative Commands
Players can check their progress with:
/skillforge points
Administrators can use:
/skillforge grant <player> <skill> [rank]/skillforge revoke <player> <skill>/skillforge reset <player>/skillforge unlockall <player>
Modification commands require administrative permission and provide autocomplete for player and skill names.
