Mighty Pocket Sand!

Sneak and right-click any sand block with an empty hand to scoop up a fistful of Pocket Sand. Throw it like a snowball. It sheds a trail of grains in flight and bursts into a sandy spray on impact. Anything it hits flinches and is blinded for five seconds. Blinded mobs lose their target and can't find a new one until the sand clears, so you can slip away or line up a hit. No damage, no crafting, no recipes. Just sand, in your pocket, ready to go.

Scoop sand with an empty hand, throw it at your enemies, and blind them while you make your escape.
